Ministry Positions

There are many positions in the Ministry of Magic. Here is the list of jobs and known people who work in those positions.

 

The Department of Magical Law Enforcement

- The Aurors, dark wizard catchers.
- The Improper Use of Magic Office, punishes wizards who break the laws of magic and underage magic.
- The Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office, Controls the use of muggle artifacts and jinxing them (then giving them to unsuspecting muggles).
- The Wizengamot Council - The wizarding world's court of law and assembly.

 

 

The Department of Magical Games and Sports

- Department Head
- International Quidditch Liaison: Collaborates with Quidditch officials from other countries
- Official Quidditch Scouts, find the quidditch players to compete in the quidditch world cup and other quidditch games.

 

 

The Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes

- Accidental Magical Reverse Squad: A squad of wizards whose job it is to reverse "accidental magic" (normally caused by young wizards). They also deal with splinching.
- The Obliviators, performs memory erasing charms on muggles who have witnessed magic.
- Muggle-worthy Excuse Committee: They explain away any magical accidents or occurrences which can't be magically cleared up or completely removed from the minds of Muggles, or which Muggles don't develop their own explanation for.

 

 

The Department of Magical Transportation

- Department Head
- Floo and Portkey Managers, wizards who are in charge of keeping the portkeys working, and the floo networks going strong.
- Apparation Test Centre Employee: Teaches young Hogwartians to apparate.

 

 

The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures

**Beast Division**
- Office for Centaur Relations: Controls Centaurs and their relations.
- Bureau of Dragon Research and Restraint: Controls drangons for events (tri-wizard tournament, etc.) and studies their behaviors.
- Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures: Disposes of dangerous creatures

**Being Dvision**
- Office for House-Elf Relocation: When a house elf is TRULY unhappy in his master's home, he can apply to this office for a relocation
- Werewolf Relations and Registry: The employees in this office work to document the werewolf population

**Spirit Division**
- Ghoul Task Force: When those pesky ghosts refuse to leave the living alone, the Ghoul Task Force comes in to make the pest behave.

- Department Head
